But a picture is worth a thousand of them, right? I’m trying to incorporate 30 minutes of blog writing and posting into a daily routine, so hopefully you won’t just see my Instagram pictures all the time.
If I’ve been too busy to post, what have I been up to?
- Reading comics: I’ve been a lifelong fan of comics, but I’ve never been a consistent reader. All that changed in April when I picked up about 5 different titles of DC’s New 52. Since then, that number has grown to encompass nearly the entire DC universe. What can I say, I love comics. Some of my current favorites include: anything by Scott Snyder (Batman, American Vampire, and Swamp Thing), anything by Jeff Lemire (Animal Man, Justice League Dark), the Flash, and Demon Knights. I may start sprinkling in the occasional comic review, so be on the lookout.
- Marketing for a promotional items company: My portfolio continues to grow with all the work I’m doing for InkHead. I now handle all of their email campaigns, oversee content production (as opposed to perform it), create landing pages (currently at 60 and counting) and manage their social campaigns.
- Working on freelance projects for my cousins: I’ve been doing freelance consulting work for the last 2 years, and while my client portfolio hasn’t grown that much, I enjoy the work and change of pace from the day job responsibilities.
- Hiking (and lately trail-running): Back in March, I also discovered a park near the office that connects to Fort Yargo State Park via its hiking trails. Since then, I’ve been hiking and exploring the woods nearly every day. Although it’s a little unnerving being in the woods alone sometimes, there’s incredibly peaceful about being quiet and listening instead to the sounds of nature.
