Summertime rolls…

Well, July has come and gone with very little activity on Gekko. Frankly, I cannot say that I am surprised. Between Bret’s work schedule and my schedule of inactivity, nothing was bound to get done, which is alright with me. I think if I had to name one thing I enjoy doing most in this world, it would have to be nothing. Although it seems paradoxical to do nothing, it is not as easily done than said.

To do nothing means to clear your mind of all those things that you otherwise allow to occupy it. You have to forget about the day-to-day stresses of your job, your family, your friends, etc. It’s easiest to do nothing in solitude or with someone with whom conversation is not always necessary. I love having the gift of speech, but sometimes I think we rely to heavily upon it. Non-speech can often speak louder and much more powerfully than spoken words ever could. The next time you and a loved one are alone together, take a break from the conversation. You’d be surprised at what might happen.

This week will be filled with free time, so I will try to make a post daily until I leave for Florida 8/9. Watch for a review of Pirates of the Carribean and 28 Days Later… coming tomorrow.
